About the Melha Feztival of Trees
Melha Shrine Feztival of Trees – Founder Illust. William Faust with his tree donation
The Melha Shrine Feztival of Trees was created by Past Potentate William Faust as a way to bring an exciting and creative energy to the Melha Shrine and the City of Springfield.
"It's like having a winter wonderland in our building but without the snow", said Faust. "Our members love this event. Our Shrine units decorate and donate trees, help with setup, make food and sell raffle tickets. It's all volunteer and I think they have more fun than some of the visitors."
The public is invited to come and see the holiday display of trees. Every year the number of donations of trees increases and the creativity and imagination of the sponsors knows no bounds.
We tried to make our Feztival a little different than the rest. We not only have these spectacular trees to view and try to win but there is also live entertainment, a craft fair, a bake sale and refreshments. We also get a special visit from Santa Claus who loves taking pictures with the kids.
We encourage individuals, companies, clubs and organizations to sponsor trees. It’s a great way to bring people family and friends together for a fun and worthwhile project. A sign designating the name of your organization, category and a short description will be prominently displayed with your tree throughout the event.
We have opportunities for crafters or direct sales people and vendors to showcase their products and services in our unique craft fair in the Butterfield Auditorium
The proceeds of this incredible event go to help the Melha Shriners in the various work they do for Shriners Hospitals for Children and for local charities and civic activities in the Greater Springfield area and in Western Massachusetts.
